TREASURED ILLUSIONS

Wanderin' down this lonesome road
I look at the sky and I wonder.
Did I imagine your voice on the wind
Or in the distant thunder?
Ahhh-- Ahhh--

I'd love to see you in the desert sun,
Dressed as a pillar of fire.
Above all others, you're the only one
To fill my heart's desire.

I'm on my knees; I call your name;
But you never answer.
Will you still love me when I fall,
Or do you really care at all?

When time was new, it was easy to give
Your divine intervention!
But now you're gone; tell me how to live
Without your love & attention?

I'm on my knees; I call your name;
But you never answer.
Why did you go so far away?
Can you hear a word I say?

The world is gettin' more like hell everyday
Consumed in greed and confusion.
Did you fail, are you dead, or did you run away?
Are you my treasured illusion?

I'm on my knees;
I call your name;
But you never answer.
Oh, can you hear me when I call?
Are you really there at all?
